Visiting the Farmstead

Abby, the birthday girl

Leo wanted to take a picture of me and Stephanie

Our friend, Abby, turned 5 recently and we helped her celebrate at Deanna Rose...until, that is, Sophia got sick.  We were doing great, but just after lunch, Sophia had a major meltdown and we headed home.  Turns out it was the right decision because the vomiting started as soon as she exited the car!  Poor kiddo!  We only have a few more weeks of the farm for the season, so hopefully we'll get back soon!

End of the Season

I'm so behind on blogging that the last post I made about T-Ball seemed like the last because I thought it was.  Sigh.  Then I came across the real of end of season pics and they are so cute I couldn't neglect them!

his team

Leo's T-Ball season has come to a close.  By the end of the season I really do feel like Leo came around and had a good time.  His direction following and team participation did get noticeably better but honestly, I wish there would have been a bit more improvement...just sayin'...but I know he's only 3 and we're working on it! :)  Leo said he liked t-ball but that he doesn't want to play again, he'd rather move on to football.  What?!  Not sure where that idea came from but I'm considering it...kind of.  He, however, is already recruiting people to come watch him on this self fabricated team.

My favorite Leo moment from t-ball was when he was up to bat one night.  He hit the ball, but it wasn't a great hit and it sort of stumbled off the tee and rolled about a foot or two forward.  He declared, rather loudly, That was foul (which it clearly was not)!  Went over, picked it up, put it back on the tee and hit it again.  Classic.

Blueberry Picking

Sophia, Leo, and Sarah
Our group this year!
It's smaller crowd that usual, but we will be there every year!

Mom picking away

Hard to tell if they are doing more eating or picking

picking is for the birds, says Leo!

they've given into eating their stash but the mommies were still going strong!

Soph and Kate on the train

We love our annual berry picking tradition, that's for sure!  I didn't want to pick too many berries this year since I don't really have a kitchen to bake all my yummy goodies, but I couldn't forgo a tradition, darn it!  This year we were joined by Bama, Lisa and her boys, and Hilary and her girls and nieces.  I will admit this year was hard as Shelby was with us last year and with her one year anniversary on the horizon, I had a few emotional moments.  I did make one pie (pictured on FB yesterday) that I have yet to try because I forgot about a meeting I had and had to dash out the door while the others got to try it!  But, according to Sophia it is the most delicious pie ever!!!  She knows how to make a momma feel good, that's for sure! :)
