Dad, your eyes are open so that means you can open presents

a super bouncy ball/frisbee=awesome!
Plus Sophia colored a picture of our family so he could take it to work

This is pretty spot on and Walter looks adorable.
She even put a camera on a tripod b/c we are posing for a photograph.

At Anne's we had brunch with Papa Leo, Aunt Cathy, and Gene

Swim Team Time!

Sophia joined the Pre-Competitive Swim Team for the first time this year.  She was very excited to do it, but she doesn't love the whole waking up early thing!  But, she's a trooper and only is required to go 3 days/week, so that makes it easier...for all of us!  She has 4 swim meets over the course of the 5 week swim team and sadly, she only made it to two.  Between the Greek Fest and travel plans, that was all we could swing.  Plus, the second one was the same day as the motorcycle ride so I didn't even get to see it, but luckily Daddy sent me updates along the way!

These pics are from her first meet.

how adorable is this?!

Leo wanted to take a picture of the flowers.

getting ready for the first swim, front stroke

feeling a little nervous

getting goggled for the back stroke

She has a pretty good backstroke but she has trouble going in a straight line.
She sort of ping-pongs between the two ropes which isn't unusual for her age, but doesn't help her get to the finish line any faster! :)

You can tell just by how she's standing that she feels a lot better and more at ease!

breast stroke time!

last jump in on the last swim

butterfly time!
This was the first time they did the butterfly and when they asked who wanted to swim it, Sophia raised her hand and she I do...how do you do it again?!  LOL!
She didn't have any trouble though and we were all super proud!
My sweet girl.
We were so proud, but more importantly, she was proud of herself!
Go, Sophia!

Sophia is the youngest person on her team and I am so impressed with how hard she works and how much her swimming has improved in just the few short weeks she's been attending.  I hope she had a good time and is excited to do this again next year!!

Happy Birthday, Jacob!

Jacob turned 11 last week!  The kids have been saving up their money for a puppy and so all Jacob wanted for his birthday was things for their future puppy...too sweet!  So, we obliged by getting him a PetCo gift card and some dog treats.  They hope to be able to pick out a puppy in the near future and Walter will probably be excited to get a new cousin! ;)

Busy Times!

Sophia has been in a different camp each week this entire month of June!  Busy!  One week it was a performing arts camp and although she really enjoyed it, I didn't love it all that much.  But it gave Leo and I the chance to spend some time together and that was fun.  Here are some pics from the park one day.  He discovered this twirly "slide" and absolutely loved it!

Here are a few shots from the final performance of Sophia's camp.  It was a "Play" that was written by the director of the camp and although it was kind of cute...it was totally weird and some of the behaviors were a little too mature (read: snotty and sassy) for my 5 y/o, thank you very much.  But she had fun and that is what really matters I suppose.
