We have tried a few different pumpkin patches over the years. I can't seem to find one that I just love and want to go back to. Last year we went to Carolyn's Country Cousins and although it was adorable and I would return there, it's quite a drive for us. This year we visited Powell's Pumpkin Patch, which I've heard about from various sources, and it's safe to say we were extremely pleased!
This patch is a no-frills, all about pumpkins, free patch. It really is no frills, but it kind of made us enjoy the nature part of it a little more. It was fun to walk through the large patch where MANY pumpkins were still attached to their vines, not something I have often seen at other places. Plus, there were so many different kinds of pumpkins growing in the field...and they were HUGE! It was awesome! We picked out some good pumpkins and then made the short drive to one of my favorite places, Louisburg Cider Mill.
The Louisburg Cider Mill always brings back memories of fall morning with my mom and dad. This was one place where we all wanted to go and were happy to be together. It's hard not to have fun where there are cider donuts involved!
